I'm partnering with an organization looking to bring on a Payroll Specialist to support their Payroll Manager and help ensure smooth, accurate payroll operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a detail-driven environment and enjoys working with both numbers and people.
Payroll Processing
- Assist with preparing and running the biweekly payroll
- Review payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and ensure everything aligns with policy and regulatory requirements
- Validate imported data and make corrections as needed
- Enter direct deposit changes and employee tax form updates
- Help process off-cycle or special payments when requested
- Calculate items such as retro pay, garnishments, reimbursements, and various employee adjustments
Employee Support & Onboarding
- Support new hires with payroll-related onboarding steps
- Set up time-off plans and help review employee leave balances
- Respond to employee payroll questions in alignment with internal guidelines
- Manage wage liens, garnishments, and other compliance-related items
Reporting & Reconciliation
- Prepare routine payroll reports each pay period
- Assist with federal and state payroll tax reconciliations
- Contribute to year-end tasks, including filings and audit support
- Maintain organized financial records and assist with generating ad hoc reporting
?? What You Should Bring
- 3+ years of experience with with payroll principles, rules, and compliance requirements
- Understanding of general accounting concepts
- Experience with payroll systems, data entry accuracy, and recordkeeping
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Solid communication skills and comfort working in a structured environment
